 I already made a statement on all the social media platforms, but I figured that I should post this on here as well.
The murder of George Floyd has all of us outraged, but that event was just the tip of the iceberg. Racism, discrimination, and acts of police brutality towards black people has gone on for way too long, and it is time for things to change. A lot of people are countering this by saying that "all lives matter" and while all lives do indeed matter, it does not mean the black people aren't suffering, because it is obvious that they are. Being an independent studio, everyone related to Pixel Happy Games was already working at home before the pandemic even began, so everything should be at a similar speed as it was before. However, because making games has a bunch of moving parts (artists, voice actors, and more), if anything happens to a member of my staff, the speed of development as a whole will be slowed down. I am doing my best to check up on everyone I work with, and make sure that they are doing safe, well, and happy. One thing that will be affected as a result of this pandemic is my plans for the Breathless Kickstarter, I feel that it is wrong during this time of crisis to start a Kickstarter campaign, I would rather have people donate money to those who need it, so I will be suspending the Kickstarter campaign until I feel like it will be the right time to start it back up.
